A five-node Raft cluster is split by a network failure into a group of three and a group of two. What happens, and what does it demonstrate?

Both sides stop committing until all five nodes are reachable again, which is exactly what makes Raft a CP system

The two-node side cannot win an election and rejects writes, while the three-node majority keeps committing

Both sides elect their own leader and continue independently, and Raft merges the two divergent logs once the link is restored

The two-node side keeps accepting writes and the conflict is later settled by taking the entry with the higher term number
