UDP's header is the whole protocol. Compare it against the minimum TCP header:
A sensor emits a 40 byte reading 1000 times a second as one UDP datagram over IPv4 on an Ethernet link. Count the 14 byte Ethernet header and ignore the preamble and the frame check sequence. What fraction of the transmitted bytes is actual payload?
