Virtu Financial SWE Intern

I interviewed at Virtu Financial for their 2027 SWE summer role and made it to the second, technical round. The first round was just an HR screen where recruiter asked me a bunch of questions about my resume none super technical in depth. I believe this was a super standard "tell me about yourself" round. Second round was with a SWE at virtu and the first 75% consisted of resume grilling and conceptual work. He asked me about a project on my resume in detail and, since the project was an OS, asked me a bunch of OS fundamental questions relating to concurrency and virtualization as well as decisions I made and inspiration I gained from existing implementations for things like virtual memory and whatnot in other kernels. The interview then moved into an easy leetcode ish style question where I don't remember the specific question just that I'd rate it around a leetcode easy / medium with a 10 line 2 pointer implementation to solve. I was then asked about how multithreading would affect performance / if it could be applied to the code I wrote to solve the problem as a follow up in the last 25% of the interview.
